13. What are The Effects of Altitude on Air Compressor Engineering?

When measured vertically above sea level, altitude simply refers to the height above sea level. Altitude plays a significant role in air compressor engineering because as altitude increases, the air becomes thinner, and the absolute pressure decreases. Since the air is less dense at higher altitudes, the cooling efficiency of the electric motor is reduced. This limitation on cooling makes standard electric motors suitable only for operation within certain altitude ranges.
